Orchid Sushi

7. Orchid Sushi

I crave sushi every month. There was a point when I needed to eat sushi weekly, if not biweekly. Seriously, it's that good. The all-you-can-eat sushi restaurants became a huge hit in North America over the past 15 years. Now there seems to be one around every corner.

To get tastier, fresher sushi, I would suggest heading to an a-la-carte sushi restaurant, not an all-you-can-eat. Why? Because these smaller restaurants put more effort and care into their food. All-you-can-eat sushi is more rushed and not as great, in my opinion. Also, why stuff yourself crazily with average food, when you can have quality, delicious food?

Maki rolls, ginger an wasabi.
This one may be the eel rolls!
(Eel is tasty btw)

Soy sauce

More maki rolls and sashimi (sliced raw fish)

Dip for the rolls

More sushi rolls :)
Overall, I was very satisfied with my meal. The atmosphere was nice and the staff/waitresses were friendly. My friend and I sat on the patio for our dinner. I should also mention that this place had some pretty tasty green tea, good job! So head over to Orchid Sushi on Laurier West if you're craving good sushi :)

ZaZaZa Pizza for Thin Crust Lovers

6. ZaZaZa

You're craving gourmet Pizza but also something fun. Zazaza is definitely the place to go for that.

I visited the Beechwood Location a few weeks ago. There's also a second location on Bank St. and a third apparently in the Hintonburg area. Zazaza on Beechwood is a place I've been to several times now and I've tried almost everything on their list. Their pizzas are excellent and always fresh. Apparently Zazaza was created by the same guy who started the Works gourmet burgers restaurants. Quite the success story if you ask me!

This was my pizza!

This was my friend's pizza

This is the hot sauce oil that I used on my pizza :)
So if you want quality pizza that is 10x better than your average pizzerias, come visit ZaZaZa at a location near you!
